Dear colleagues,


the Society for Mycotoxin Research and the local organizers, the National Institute of Public Health and the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture, cordially invite you to join the the 42nd Mycotoxin Workshop in Brno (, Czech Republic on May 25 - 27, 2020.

The Mycotoxin Workshop is organized annually since 1979 and covers all scientific aspects of mycotoxin research: toxigenic fungi, occurrence of mycotoxins in food, feed and the environment, mycotoxin analyses, toxicity of mycotoxins, risk assessment, human and animal health. Core ideas of the Society for Mycotoxin Research ( as responsible organizer is to create bridges between the different scientific disciplines and to bring together scientists from all over Europe and the world.

This scientific meeting typically attracts 200+ participants from academia, government and industry from more than 20 countries across the globe.


At the Workshop in Brno we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first identification of a mycotoxin, Aflatoxin B1, and the beginning of mycotoxin research. Moreover, in 2020, the Brigitte Gedek Science Award (10.000 €) will be granted for the 10th time. The price is given by the Brigitte and Wolfram Gedek Foundation, Munich.


Participating in the Brno 2020 Mycotoxin Workshop is linked not only with a high quality scientific programme, but also unforgettable social events with informal pleasant atmosphere to meet old friends and to make new ones.
